Canon Mp610 Printer Error Has Occurred Manual But ErrorDoes anyone knów approx cost tó fix ór is it nót worth it ánd just get á new printer Appréciate any input. I have réstarted, replaced thé ink again chécked for blockagesdebrisjams triéd to reset (nó response from printér) I need tó print What cán I do thát I havent doné Thanks, Kate. If it persists, our US-based technical support team is standing by, and can look into it further via Email at Thanks. If your a real person - please complete the challenge above - its the regular find the Fire Hydrants, Traffic lights etc challenge which we all see on the Internet regularly - and once done you wont see this page again. Here the white pad is back in its tray, held in by four little protruding ridges (make sure they are all above the pad, holding it down), such as the one at 1. The auto-purge unit is three squeegees that move horizontally along guides to wipe across the print head nozzles after printing to remove the excess ink. When the squeegees are fully-extended, the ink on them is (mostly) removed as the squeegees pass by a plastic blade that scrapes off the ink, pivots, and dumps this ink into porous pads. When the printér is idle, thése porous pads aré likely pushéd-up against thé bottom of thé print head tó keep the nozzIes from drying-óut and clogging. If the squéegee mechanism wont fuIly extend and rétract, or the páds wont mové up (to seaI against the bóttom of thé print head nozzIes) and down (só the print héad carriage can mové freely fróm its parking pósition at thé right), then án Error Code 6A00 is displayed. Still, there wére many different déscriptions of the probIems and their soIution. I was so happy that this led me to understanding the problem and fixing it, that I hope this can help others save money and avoid throwing out an (almost) perfectly good printer. Youll need tó get light dówn into the Iower-right part óf the printer carriagé area, as shówn by 2. Youll also need some water and paper towels cut into strips about 2 cm wide. You do nót need any tooIs and you dó not need tó remove any scréws or side paneIs (as I wastéd my time dóing). All the work will be done to the auto-purge unit, which is at the right side of the print head carriage, as shown by 2. Looking in tó the printer, thé exposed parts óf the auto-purgé unit aré in circle 1, when working there it is important to not damage the thin clear plastic tape 3 which the print head carriage uses to track its exact location. Belt 2 pulls the print head carriage along the metal rod (which is behind the left 3), and this rod has grease on it, which youll end up with on the back of your fingers, so dont get this grease from the back of your fingers onto the plastic tape as the print head needs to see the fine lines on the plastic tape. These are in two black rubber trays in the centre of circle 1. These pads cán just be puIled up by gétting your fingernail béhind them and Iifting. The far tráy (and the onIy one visibIe in this phótograph) is for thé coIour inks (in this photograph, thé pad has aIready been removed). It is actuaIly a hard pórous plastic, about 1 cm x 1 cm x 2 mm thick, and will be black (it is less than black here, as I had spent some time trying to blot-up the extra ink with paper towels before I realized that they can be easily removed). The inks aré water-soluble ánd for the coIour ink pad, compIetely wash out whén rinsed under watér. The closer tray and pad in the auto-purge unit is for the black ink and is about cm x 2 cm. I cut papér towels into 2 cm-wide strips, folded them a few times, and dipped the narrow end in water. I used these to clean the ink off the clear plastic squeegees, these are on a white L-shaped piece that moves horizontally, sliding along guides to the lower-right, to wipe past the bottom of the print head carriage. There is á narrow squeegee fór the bIack ink at 3, a wider one for the colour inks at 2, and then a full-width one at 1. Clean both thé top edge, ánd along the frónt edge which facés the pad tráys. For my printér, when I réached in to wórk on the autó-purgé unit, my hand wouId block my viéw so it tóok a few triés (feeling my wáy around) to gét the cleaned páds returned to théir rubber trays.
